Here, I will show it to you how a busy mom can able to find time in her busy life. I know some of you will say that multi-tasking is not a good way. It is true, however, I believe that if your hand is busy but your mind is free, you could do something, I’m just saying. But of course, follow what you think it’s working for you.
These are practical ways that I implement every day for my personal development. I believe investing in myself is the key to my success. So, finding time is challenge at the beginning but I found something that works for me. Maybe some of you already using those techniques. Kudos to you my friend. But if not, read on..
While doing household chores like dishes, laundry, cleaning the house, ironing clothes, I use my cell phone with my earphones and listen to the motivational, inspirational or any audible books that I prefer even if it's only 5 to 10 minutes is stills adds up. Think about it, if you do your dishes for 5 minutes, laundry for 10 minutes, cleaning the house for 30 mins. And if you adds up, its 45 minutes per day x 365 days for a year. Do the math. Chunk of personal development that you found every single day. And guess what, at the end of the year you're totally new person!
While putting make up- always remember if your hands is not free but your mind is, you can still do something else right? Average women put make up will take them 30 minutes or less. So while putting make up, I listen to my affirmation using an app I AM that I AM. I recorded my affirmations and I listen to that every morning and every night. I could adjust the brain waves music if I like to. A bit of information is good than nothing right?
While driving to pick up my kids in school. Listen to any CD's to play in your car or recorded voice memos of past event you attended. If you have a latest model of the car, make sure it syncs up using Bluetooth capability. If not, you can use headphones or earphones instead. I attended this webinar and recorded it to my voice memo in my Iphone. Now, I'am listening to My Sponsoring Secrets.
If you are a working mom or dad, waiting for the bus, taxi, subway or any kind of transportation. Listen to any podcast like Ray Higdon, Brendon Burchard, MLSP Podcast.
While walking to go to work. For example, I park my car in the garage to go to my work and it will take me 5 to 7 minutes to go to my workplace. If I park in the street, it will take me 15 minutes. I listen to replay Periscope that I follow.
While exercising like walking, cardio, elliptical I plugins my headphones and listen to recorded webinar I watch like Facebook Gone Wild . Or while strolling with my baby around the neighborhood. Getting fresh air is so refreshing so I use the time to organize my thoughts to reflect and think about how can I do better and what are the other things I need to accomplished for today.
Don't forget to watch TV– why did I say that. Some of you thinking are you crazy lady? Leaders said that don't watch TV. Use your time productively. You should give up the things, sometimes your hobby for you to be successful.
Yeah, I hear you, it’s all true! I say that because as a mom you did everything for you family, running errands, your business and guess what? Is something missing right? You know what's missing? What missing is, “time for yourself ”
For me, I shift my thinking that watching TV is my “rejuvenation time”, my “ME” time! After everything I’ve done, I need to relax, take a break because when we are overwhelmed, stress, frustrated, I cant find the answer to my question.
We get more irritable, angry, more frustrated, blaming others, displacing our behavior to others and eventually some people quit their business, just like that, right? So for me watching TV, at least, one hour to my favorite show it relaxes my mind, and it bring me back to my focus. It works for me! Just be mindful, just 1 hour/ day. Not binging or watching the marathon.
Take note: It takes discipline and awareness to do it. If you don't have this two qualities, this tip will not work for you.
“Don’t work for the time
let the time work for you!”
